The story behind the Greek Project

By this point, the Tales That Tell the Truth series had become so beloved in Greek-speaking communities that many people urged us to translate another book from the series. After some research and much prayer, we concluded that The Prisoners, the Earthquake, and the Midnight Song was the perfect choice!

Not only is it a powerful story about the unstoppable nature of the gospel, but it also takes place in Greece! The book tells the story of Paul and Silas, who were wrongfully imprisoned in Philippi. After a miraculous earthquake opens the prison doors, they share the good news with the jailer—who then becomes a follower of Jesus (Acts 16).

Philippi is in northern Greece, and we felt it was a precious opportunity for children here to read a Bible story and be able to connect it with a real place they can visit in their own country. What a joy to bring this story home—literally!
