The story behind the Greek Project
By now, Sporos had published several books for children aged 4–10, and the requests for resources for other age groups kept coming! So, we decided to publish three small books for toddlers: The Dad Who Never Gave Up, How Can I Pray?, and Never Too Little!
All three were written and illustrated by Steph Williams, who does an amazing job retelling stories from the New Testament in a simple yet compelling way. The illustrations were unusual—Greeks are often used to more traditional or medieval-style Christian art—but children absolutely loved them!
After we published the books, many parents told us how certain scenes made their little ones laugh and fall in love with the story—stories they soon began to remember by heart! None of this would have been possible if these books hadn’t been translated into Greek.
Encouraging feedback like this kept us going, especially as the publishing work became increasingly challenging.
Never Too Little! is an engaging retelling of the story from Mark 10:13–16, where little children come to Jesus. It teaches preschool children that you’re never too little to be God’s friend. Children loved this book because they could see themselves in the story—small, curious, and loved by Jesus just as they are. The vibrant illustrations and simple, joyful language made them feel seen and included, reminding them that God’s love is for everyone, no matter how little.
