The story behind the Greek Project

One thing we truly enjoy is theological reflection—seeing every aspect of life through a theological lens. Periods are a significant part of human life, as they are the mechanism that makes birth possible. That’s why we loved this book, which explains not only the biology of menstruation but also its theology.

Before committing to the project, we conducted informal research, asking people from various churches whether they’d be interested. The results were, in many ways, expected: the men were a bit confused, while the women responded with sparkling eyes, saying, “Really?” followed by, “I would LOVE to read a book like that!” For every confused look and every spark of enthusiasm, we felt confident in our decision.

As we expanded our focus from just children’s books to resources for teens and young adults, this book felt like the right next step. But then came a new challenge: how could we translate this book well and do it justice? Even the terminology in the first chapters was daunting.

God provided an unexpected solution: Alkmini Anastasiadi, a Postdoctoral Researcher with a PhD in Biomedical Sciences, volunteered to translate the book for us. What a gift—and what an excellent job she did! We were amazed.
